Infertility is a problem that affects up to 16% of couples worldwide. The actual causes of this anomaly are wide and varied. Infertility is now being explored more extensively than ever before. There is however one limitation. Most of them are only being undertaken on the medical paradigm. These includes the use of fertility drugs, creating artificial unions between the egg and sperm through IVF, sperm separation, gestational surrogacy and most recently genetic cloning.

Statistically, the chance of an ovum getting fertilised by the first exposure between sperm and ovum is as low as 20%. This is exacerbated by the fact that many of the early embryos are intrinsically abnormal in the first instance. Consequently, up to half of these embryos will fail to develop after fertilisation. Out of the remaining 50% per cent of the successful embryos, only a third will result in the birth of a child.

The by-product of the fertilisation procedure is menstruation. This is meant to be a cyclical event in the life of a mature woman. Yet for many, this event does not occur cyclically i.e. on the projected day of the cycle. There are many reasons for a woman’s monthly period to be hastened or delayed. These irregularities do not really matter in the practical world. However, when it comes to evaluating the number of pregnancies a woman can have in her lifetime, this needs to be considered. This is because some of the delays may have been caused by the fertilisation of an ovum, in the absolute earliest stages of pregnancy, with the ability to give life to a new human being.

Many options are now available to couples wanting to conceive, ranging from the simplest to the most complicated methods. However, one needs to acknowledge that the more complicated methods are not necessarily the best. Commonsense, and the financial limitations of many of us, may persuade us to try the simpler, less complicated options that is inline with our needs. One of these options is Chelvam’s Method. The simplest and most reliable of all the methods currently available. The only method which takes into account all significant delays in the periods of the intended mother. This being done to explore any conception a woman may have had knowingly or unknowingly in the past, no matter how early in the cycle it may have happened. The purpose of this to account for all possible conceptions a woman may have in her lifetime.
